Disruptia is a word that Frances and I created to describe the disruption of the societal system that decides when women are human beings or sexual objects. Throughout the process of creating this body of work, I became interested in the tension between form and content, specifically in depicting the female body. I wanted to focus on the tension that exists in our society with how we view women by playing into the objectification, abstracting the body to create a new depiction of the female form.
