The Institut de l’Environnement (1969–1971) was a school in Paris with an interdisciplinary orientation. Founded in the heated atmosphere generated by worldwide student protests and by a growing awareness of the threat posed to the environment, this research and training centre set out to redefine the way architecture and design are taught and the role that research plays in the process.
