I travelled to Silesia, one of Europe’s most polluted regions, to document Poland’s enduring reliance on coal and the impact it leaves on both people and place. Travelling through the small mining towns of Imielin and Bytom, Subside moves through these fractured landscapes, documenting sinking homes, abandoned façades, and the quiet persistence of those who stay.
