In his new photo book Célestial , French photographer Vincent Ferrané explores emotional functioning through a series that ventures into visual processing. The project is based on warm-up poses from contortion practices. The graphic treatment of the contorted body within a mundane interior takes on a higher dimension through the association of multiple images captured during the shoot – images that are slightly different but similar enough to allow axes of symmetry to align them, creating a new image altogether.
