An hour-glass shaped stool handwoven by the Xhosa women in the eastern cape of South Africa. These stools are built with a hard wire frame for structure and then covered with woven river reed, native to the area. Their free-form shade makes each one unique with sculptural like qualities. The Xhosa women who weave this collection of beautiful baskets work as part of a community project - providing them with employment and continuing to empower the skill of basket weaving in their local township.
