When Melbourne designer Karla Laidlaw first started her clothing label in 2018, she went from creating custom one-off pieces in her mum's garage to building a namesake label. Her designs give attitude to the pieces — drawing on 2000s fashion and Melbourne's indie scene culture to create distinctive, sought-after garments.
