Prise Bronze Bottle Opener’s design embodies a playful ambiguity, merging elements of mid-century sculpture and familiar industrial tools. A highly sculptural reframing of a utilitarian, often unremarkable essential, this is not an object to be tucked away in your kitchen drawer, but one to sit where its bold form can be duly appreciated. Each piece is manufactured by a small-scale art foundry in Sydney, using the centuries-old technique of lost wax casting; then hot-patinated and sealed in restoration wax to facilitate a rich, dark, tarnish-resistant surface, before being punched with a maker
